"The room which was booked was supposed to be a Deluxe Room to cater for one adult. The room, however, conatined two single beds, neither of which were of a suitable size for one adult. The location of the rooom also left a lot to be desired. The room was located on the main road frontage of the hotel and positioned above the entrance to a nightclub. The ensuing noise from the nightclub did not allow for peaceful nights when the club was open. The road noise ealry in the morning was also not conducive to a restful night. On two separate occasions the room was also without hot water. The hotel is certainly not one that I would choose to stay in again or recommend to anyone to do likewise."

"Renovated older-style hotelLocated on the main street of Vila & a litle noisy until 8 or 9pm after which it's quiet. I didn't really expect much charm & there isn't any. However it's safe, convenient to almost everything especially to restaurants & shops, & perfectly adequate for an overnight stop between flights."

"The hotel was OK and served it's purpose for one night. I wouldn't stay there any longer than that - our room, whilst clean was a little dark and dreary. Was also very noisy given its location. Our itinerary said that breakfast was included however we were given no information about this and consequently had to go out and get our own breakfast."

"Hotel Olympic is a comfortable, clean and affordable budget hotel. Superb location in the heart of Port Vila, only a minute from the waterfront, cafes, markets and shops. Bus stop over the road for cheap and covenient airport transfers and touring. Fabulous value for money, when continental breakfast at nearby restaurant is included in price."

"The room we stayed on 26th was not what we reserved. We reserved for Double Bed but it was twin beds. The room we stayed on 30th was very good."

"Room 11 is right on top of ktchen of "el gecco" restaurant. so sometime oil odors come trough the windows."

"We stayed 3 nights, and while 2 were comfortable in one room on the first floor, on the third night in a room on the second floor, we woke to find insect bites all over our bodies, we 're not sure if the insects were in the bed or were something else. We saw no mosquitos at any time."

"I had a lovely time staying in the Olympic Hotel in Vanuatu. I enjoyed the breakfast at Nirvana each morning. Staff were very helpful and pleasant at all times.
I would have like less noise and less light in my room via a window over my door, outside of which there was a bright light all night. I would stay there again and also recommend it."

"Hotel Olympic was a pleasant surprise. The room was large and came with a complete kitchen. Room service was efficient. We expected some noise from the street and the night club, but it wasn't a problem at all. After all it's a city hotel. Our room even had a sea view.
What we didn't like was the fact that a late check out (1pm instead of 11am)would have only been possible for a hefty charge. After staying at the Olympic for 6 nights this was a bit disappointing....."

"We stayed in a Studio, room was basic but met our needs during the 10night stay. Was reasonably priced, and very central to all day trips and exploring the local shops and markets.
We could hear the night club below from our room but it was not loud enough to keep us awake, and when it closes people left quietly as we didn't get woken up, unlike the night clubs in most Australian cities."

"IT is hard to comment on much as we were there for such little time. When we arrived there was a security guard there to let us in. Only trouble was, he did not know which room to put us in. Finally he put us in a room that was a higher level than we had paid for. In the morning the hotel staff said they had someone come on around 11pm thinking we were arriving at 11.30pm, but we were in before 11pm. We were happy just to have a good clean room to sleep. We left the hotel by 9am. The cost for the room is finally on our AMEX bill. Thanks."

"A spare toilet roll in the bathroom does not go astray... a couple of days we had to buy our own to supplement the one supplied and toilet continually smelt..... just small things but things that were noticeable. Otherwise it was great.. centrally located, close to lots of facilities.
A folder of sightseeing brochures in the room would have helped us to get familiar with what was on offer...particularly since we were not offered any at the front office on arriving (nor were there any particulaly visible!!!) and had to seek them out at a tourist place in the main street.
Also we had specified a twin room but somehow this was overlooked when we arrived ( a day late due to weather) - it was fixed immediately but the room was not ready as a result and was smoke-filled (cigarettes)!!! so it was less welcoming simply because of that

"Spacious & comfortably furnished.
Air conditioner in one room of the two-room suite wasn't working effectively.
Some kind of furniture manufacture is being carried out on the covered deck there & our first morning, we were woken by a very loud power sander."
