Traveller Comments:
"The facilities on the island are basic and I think this is one of the better accommodations on Tanna."
Mr. Alexander van der G. - Netherlands on 21/08/2010
"1) Didn't have any electricity during the day and in the middle of the night which makes it impossible to use bathroom without a window
2) Some of the recreations mentioned are not available
3) Internet charges are exorbitant compared to all other hotels and on top hardly working
4) Guest information for sightseeing/recreation (except for own tours organised and sold) is very limited"
Mr. Armin H. - Germany on 16/08/2010
"It was fine and what we expected as part of the experience. Obviously they are making a real effort and the meals were a great surprise, very very good."
Mr. Lawrence K. - Australia on 14/08/2010
"I had a fabulous time at Evergreen. Although my bungalow showed its age a little, it was clean and the mosquito net and screens were in good condition. The garden was filled with beautiful tropical plants, with colourful butterflies and birds flitting about.

I ordered the lobster for dinner the first night I was there, and it was unbelievable value! Breakfasts were excellent with a selection of tropical fruit which varied each day, homebaked bread, and a decent-sized pot of fresh coffee.

The tour to the volcano was excellent. Our guide, David, was happy to stop along the way so we could take photos, and gave a good commentary on points of interest. At the volcano he was very safety conscious, moving people back from one viewing point when the volcano got very active.

To top it off, we saw whales diving in the ocean, just while we were sitting in the restaurant."
Ms. Denise S. - New Zealand on 07/08/2010
"Caters well to a variety of budgets & to families as well as individuals. Honeymoon Suite is a separate reasonably secluded bungalow with excellent bathroom, very spacious balcony with ocean views - worth the extra cost for a couple. Airy restaurant with good value snacks & meals (very good steak), excellent breakfast of fruit, toast & Tanna coffee. Very leafy surrounds but can't understand why have they cut down most of the trees & other vegetation on the ocean side?"
Mr. John D. - Australia on 07/08/2010
"What an awesome place!! :) Staff were really friendly and helpful, the trips were great and well organised and the food and ambience fantastic! Really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay there again."
Ms. Catherine Summers/Mr. Neal C. - Australia on 05/08/2010
"The bungalow n°13 we got has a wonderful view on the sea and is very nice. Just to mention it : its windows don't close very well, which allows the wind to get in. It must be nice in summer, but it gets quite cold in winter.
We had a wonderful time in Tanna."
Mr. Florent B. - France on 31/07/2010
"Hot water was terrible/ non-existent, this was the case with both the garden room and in the honeymoon suite which costs a lot of money per night. Travel was restricted to tours only and these are very expensive. Food average to poor. Setting was lovely and the rooms were clean."
Mr. Allen P. - Australia on 23/07/2010
"We had a wonderful bungalow and everything worked well."
Mr. Vernon C. - Australia on 15/07/2010
"We were unlucky with the weather but were very happy with our stay there.
The rooms are charming and have great views (bathroom could do with a coat of fresh paint).
The restaurant is overpriced as there are no real other options around. The food is nice however.
The night time volcano tour is definitely a must do!"
Ms. Caroline Laux / Mr. Charles B. - France on 23/06/2010
"We were in the honeymoon bungalow : the one that named it like this never ever had a honeymoon ! The room has not been made up (we stayed 2 nights), there is just very few hot water, power supply is only between 5:00pm and 10:00pm (don't think about going to the bathroom at night), you have to know at lunch what you want for dinner (mandatory reservation)... Escape !!!"
Bref, 7/10."
Mr. HUGUES DE C. - France on 28/05/2010
"We had a great time - all the staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was cleaned daily (unless we requested otherwise), and the tours offered were excellent! Would definitely stay here again."
Mr. Dustin H. - Australia on 08/04/2010
"Marked not happy as we had to wait 3 1/2 hours in reception for our room to be ready. Otherwise we thoroughly enoyed our stay and would recommend to others."
Mr. Peter C. - Australia on 06/04/2010
"We really appreciated our stay at evergreen, the people are wonderful. The food was excellent, superb place and bungalows.
The tours were also perfect."
Mr. Olivier B. - New Caledonia on 01/02/2010
"merci Lilian!super séjour, personnel très sympa."
Mrs. Celine & Damien C. - New Caledonia on 25/01/2010
"We loved the Tanna Evergreen Resort. It was friendly, clean and the overall experience was fantastic. My family & I (2 adults, 2 teenage boys) had a great stay and highly recommend the resort."
Mrs. Wendy O. - Australia on 25/01/2010
"What a great place and lovely people. We were fortunate to be there for the staff Christmas party and had a great time.

Everyone there was wonderful and the owners made us feel welcome and valued. The resort has some great snorkelling right out the fornt and will benefit greatly once permanent electicity is available (expected in 2010)

We happen to visit another nearby property wher the same tours (using the same guide and equipment) were 150% of the price at Evergreen - good on Evergreen for taking such a generous approach to guest service."
Mr. Paul & Mrs. Joanne J. - Australia on 01/01/2010
"Excellent snorkeling @ this site with great tours to the volcano and the blue water cave!
Accommodation is rustic, the bed mattress was bad with rats trying to break in during the night!
Food is very good and cheerful people."
Mrs. Amandine B. - France on 07/10/2009
"Pleasant experience, great workers, especially the "Admin/Reception lady - Francine. Staff always happy, pleasant and ready to assist where possible."
Mr. Robert H. - Australia on 06/10/2009
"I loved Evergreen Resort! The Tours they provided were excellent, the staff very helpful and friendly, the food was superb, and the bungalows were very comfortable with beautiful views :)"
Ms. Anna B. - Australia on 08/09/2009
"We travelled with two small children and another couple, so hired the family bungalow, which was very comfortable.

The staff at Tanna Evergreen were fantastic - very welcoming, and extremely helpful. They were also great with the kids - very accommodating and eager to assist. Special mention to our driver, Jack, who took us on a tour to Mt Yasur volcano. He was fantastic!

The staff thoroughly cleaned our room every morning and maintained the whole resort very well. The food was also very good - something for everyone.

I'd recommend Tanna Evergreen to anyone who is considering visiting Tanna Island.

Potter Family - Melbourne"
Mr. Richard P. - Australia on 07/09/2009
"beautiful spot, we had ocean view bungalow. Very friendly people. Food good quality. Did have an "animal" in room first night - probably a little bush rat or mouse - but mosquito net was great and we felt quite secure - it was probably because we had a packet of crackers - we should have remembered from prior trips to thailand this is not a good idea in raffia buildings!"
Ms. anne b. - Australia on 01/09/2009
"Very friendly and well organised receptionist, with lots of local knowledge and helpful information on tours and activities.
Very good restaurant and food. Very nice location for a few days."
Mr. John B. - United Kingdom on 01/09/2009
"The service at Tanna Evergreen Bungalows was very friendly and helpful. Evergreen Bungalows is an escape to paradise and a perfect place to relax with beautiful views and great food."
Ms. Katharine D. - Australia on 31/08/2009
"Great place to kick back and relax. Excellent snorkelling at the resort."
Mrs. Kylie E. - Australia on 27/07/2009
"Warm, welcoming and friendly environment, lovely staff. Room was perfect, surrounds are beautiful, tours were excellent. Much cheaper and much nicer than where we stayed in Vila. Dinners were delicious (especially the fish baked in banana leaves!) We would have loved to stay longer and intend to return one day."
Mr. Nancy H. - Australia on 21/07/2009
"Love the place!"
Ms. Terri M. - United States on 18/07/2009
"great experience"
Mr. David A. - Australia on 17/06/2009
"The poeple in this hotel is friendly and trie honestly to satisfy your needs.

The food is OK, so is the service.

The black point is the cleanliness of the bungalow, our feet went black instantly, and the toilet cover was unclean. No service in room for the two days we have been staying. Another bad point : the efficiency of showers : no light in it on day (cause the generator is off), and we had to use candles, and it is cold or hot, no middle between cooking like a lobster or to get very fresh after it...

All in all, it's quite expensive for the standard this kind of accomodation claims.
We found much better than this, and less expensive in Santo."
Mr. Aluze J. - New Caledonia on 09/06/2009
